Personal Statement of Mark Simons Concerning Jesus Christ I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal savior at the age of seven through the witness of my parents and our church. At the age of 27, after making a recommitment to Christ, I sensed God's leadership into full time Christian service. Upon completion of Seminary, I was called to Pastor First Baptist Church in Dexter, New Mexico where I served five years. My family and I also began an association with the Dexter School System, which eventually led to full time employment with the district serving as a liaison to the community and working with troubled children and youth. It has also been a blessing to serve the young men and women of the New Mexico National Guard as their Chaplain. In the summer of 2004 I accepted the call as pastor to Jan Lee Baptist Church in Burkburnett, Texas. My desire, wherever I find myself working, is to see adults, youth, and children come to a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ and develop into mature believers who positively affect their own lives, families, church, community, and world for Christ.
